From the Brian Bonsor book
Aulos Haka alto
Rustic Dance by Alan Ridout, from Trevor Wye 1. A bit tricky, its in F so has a Bb in it, but with most Bs as naturals.
A little something for spooky season, pedal held down throughout
A special anniversary today. On this day 200 years ago Johann Strauss II, the father of dance music, was born.
My mini tribute, on alto recorder.
Recently I played Guter Mond on alto recorder, and today I decided to play it on flute, using the same key, which meant playing low C.
Then I tried Fauré's Pavane, playing the second part in the second octave.
Got this yesterday, £6 from Vinted.
Its called a Fife but its more like a keyless piccolo in C.
Aulos 21C Pipit mkII
Learned 2 pieces today, one for soprano, one for alto.
I began playing the soprano recorder in 2016 and I made my way through most of The School Recorder book 1. After a while I moved onto the alto and tenor and the little sop sat collecting dust. Till now!
A piece in The Guitarist's Way book 3 playing in the VII position (fret 7).
Had to try this song just because its Autumn. Can do better. Want to try a piano version.
Father Halpin's Topcoat and Also Sprach Zarathustra, a piece that uses the whole keyboard!
Suzuki 37C melodica
Ok so I checked my Windsor clarinet for leaks, all good, its solid!
So I stuck a reed on and went for the second octave. And considering I haven't played in a while I got a good run up to high C I think. It was fairly easy. The trick is to sound sweet rather than just loud. That will come with practise.
Now I just need to tighten my embouchure and continue with the Rubank book...
Windsor plastic horn
Babbit student mpc
Legere European cut 2.5.
A piece from The Guitarist's Way played on piano with my own middle section.
A little piece I came up with while practising guitar.
Legend from The Guitarist's Way book 3.
This was a tough nut to crack. Its not perfect; there are moments when my nail is hitting the adjacent string on the way back down to the correct string, but the string spacing is closer on this Valencia. Sounds tons better than the Jose Ferrer though.
I was exhausted afterwards!
