A Kalimba and a little dog

 Another surprise from my other half, a 21 note Kalimba now tuned to the F major scale.

Also I sat at the piano the other day and played a piece based on a riff I played on my Lyre Harp. I had a little dog figure on the keyboard so I named it after him.

Second kalimba

 This is a tiny mini kalimba bought me. Very cute, 8 tines on a small solid block. I had to get the hammer to it and get it tuned to C using the tuner app on my phone.

I got a Kalimba!

My partner bought this for me, out of the blue. The kalimba is a tuned percussion instrument based on the Mbira, played by the Shona tribe of Zimbabwe. It was originally very basic but was developed in the 1950s by Hugh Tracey into the modern, highly resonant instrument called the Kalimba.
