Working on a Schubert piece

 A piece in the Carol Barrat book I've been working on, a German Dance by Franz Schubert. A lot of work and practise needed.

Cradle Song

Another piece from the Carol Barratt book. Learned and recorded in one sitting.

Scarborough Fair

 Scarborough Fair from Carol Barratt classic piano course book 1. Learned to play it in 2 days, the shortest time to learn a piece from this book!

Poor Wond'ring One

 A piece in the first Carol Barratt book, taken from The Pirates of Penzance.

Allemande

 Finally got Allemande by Johann Schein from the Carol Barratt book 1. I started working on this ages ago but I just couldn't seem to get it under my fingers. But I came back to the piano and started doing regular practising and I finally got it, complete with my own little ornaments here and there. 

I just need to work on the dynamic changes!

 Had a good play today, played the Gavotte by Handel with just a couple of mistakes, then I came up with a couple of pieces including a little hand independence exercise.

Little Sonata

 A piece in the Carol Barratt book by Charles Henry Wilton.

Der Meyen 2 ways

 A Swiss folk song played on piano, then on soprano recorder.

Couple of improv pieces

 An improv based on an exercise in the Carol Barratt book called Clogs 

And something I came up with based loosely on In The Bleak Midwinter. The opening phrase suggested the words Something Calls Me and so that is what I called it 

Drink To Me Only

 A traditional English song from the Carol Barratt method book 1.

Czerny etude

 Going through the Carol Barratt book again. Got the Czerny etude, op.599 no. 11 down

 And a bit of piano fun,

Shepherd's Hey by Percy Grainger

 A piece from the Carol Barratt classic piano course (book 1) with my own left hand accompaniment. In the first video I played a wrong note  in the second phrase (E instead of F in the left hand).

The next day I corrected it and added a repeat of the main theme.

Gavotte (piano)

Finally nailed it. I've been away from the piano for a while but I was determined to get this piece right!

I've been learning to read piano pieces from a book (Classic Piano Course by Carol Barratt) and have made video recordings of my progress.

Piano Practice

Back to piano...I'm currently practicing a Czerny exercise to help my reading of music and hand independence.  I play it each night for half an hour till it's perfect.
