Baritone re-string

 I got some Living Water GCEA baritone strings, in low G, unwound, and strung her up today. Took some turns for that high A, its very tight. And there was a spare A string in the set.

Boom Chicka Boom strum

 Trying out a strum pattern from one of Phil Doleman 's 2 Minute Tips YouTube videos. You strum with the thumb, then follow up with the the fingernails, bringing the thumb to rest at the top, muting the strings. It gives a nice boom chicka rhythm.

Make it Snappy!

 a little chord prog I came up with on the concert uke, using a short, sharp strumming pattern, strumming further down the fingerboard than usual which increases the snappiness and makes for a brighter sound

Chords are E7, A7, E7, A7, C7, D7, C7, with a slide to C at the end

Had a set up done on my ukulele

After 2 years of playing with a ukulele that's slightly out I took it in for a set up. Ron did a great job and it sounds much better now. I also got a strap button put on.

Tanglewood and JHS Spongebob uke comparison

Just a little video showing the sound differences between these two ukes. The Spongebob uke, which was bought for my son,  is a soprano sized instrument made by John Hornby Skewes,  who also own the Vintage range of guitars, and it isn't half bad for a kids' uke! And my Tanglewood is a concert size.

Well it's been a while since I posted here, and almost a year since I recorded any of my uke playing!
So here's a rough attempt at Let It Be by the Beatles, first on my Tanglewood concert, then on my son's SpongeBob soprano
